Spring 2021 Newsletter
This term has been remarkably busy for the nursery, with coming back after Christmas to the announcement of another lockdown, it has been a transition period for us all. We would like to thank all our parents for your continued support throughout this time. We would also like to thank all our wonderful, dedicated staff for all their hard work throughout Lockdown.
The Baby Room
It’s been very busy within the baby room this term, from the younger babies having their first birthdays and some learning to walk which are huge milestones. As well as new starters and settling the children all back in after Christmas. This term the baby room have been exploring under the sea animals. We have really enjoyed the reintroduction of messy play to enhance this but also for our sensory play. We especially got very messy with the gloop which was great fun. Other sensory pieces we have been exploring include water play with our ducks, as we love the 5 little ducks’ song at the moment and have added our artwork to our lovely display board which is nearly finished. We have also been interested in our little wooden kitchen; new food pictures were then introduced to enhance this, and we have explored lots of roleplay cooking, using these.

Our Learning
This term within the two plus room the children have looked at the world. From the snow and weather, we had at the beginning of term! We loved seeing all the photos of the children playing in the snow so thankyou to our parents for sending them in. That was an extremely exciting week for the children and of course the staff. We looked at the different buildings around the world and had fun making our own versions of them from construction materials and shapes. We also looked at maps of the world from flat maps to our round world maps and we talked lots about pirates. We made our own maps which are now on our display board. We celebrated Chinese New Year and looked at all the animals. In the book that we read, the animals had a race, all the children were adding which animals they thought were going to win! In the two plus room our children love Dinosaurs and We have been having fun with our dinosaur activities! From sand art writing and drawings of the different species of dinosaurs, to our wonderful volcanos which we made! These were fantastic. Now spring is here, we have been carrying on our learning of the world and looking at the world around us. Looking at different types of flowers and the fun topic of minibeasts.
Fogging Machine
The Nursery has invested in a Fogging Machine to help maintain the rigorous cleaning of the nursery each evening after closing. This machine cleans everything inside the nursery and kills and protects against 99.99% of viruses and bacteria including Coronavirus.
